Jimmie Allen Apologizes To His Wife For His Affair
Jimmie Allen has taken to Instagram to apologize to his wife publically. He apologized for what he characterized as an “affair.” As we previously reported, there are sexual assault allegations against him. He didn’t reference that in his message, instead focusing on his infidelity.
He wrote, “I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair. I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all. I also want to apologize to my children for being a poor example of a man and a father.” He continued, saying that he is working on “becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of.” As we have previously reported, Allen and Alexis Gale are separating after three years of marriage. They are expecting a third child. They have two daughters, Namoi and Zara. Allen has a son, Aaydn, from a previous relationship.
Allen went on to say in his message, “This business takes so much from you. It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them. I will no longer be a victim of my weakness.” You can read his entire post here.
Yesterday, Allen seemed to comment on the allegations against him via his Instagram stories. In the first post, he quoted the Kendrick Lamar song “Alright,” writing, “We gonna be alright. This too shall pass.” He wrote the words over a prayer emoji. In a second Insta post, he wrote over the graphics For King And Country’s song, “Burn The Ships,” “God only knows … He knows!”
King and Country’s “Burn The Ships” lyrics include, “Step into a new day / We can rise up from the dust and walk away / We can dance upon our heartache, yeah / So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships / And don’t you look back.” Allen is not currently facing any criminal charges regarding the allegations.
When the news of the allegations broke on May 11, Allen shared a statement with Variety, in which he claimed that he had a consensual sexual relationship with the victim, who was being referred to as Jane Doe. The statement read: “It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues, and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever. I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time, she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely.”
