This South Carolina Beach Town Is Fastest Growing Place In America
Many of us have been there, and I actually lived 4 miles away in Surfside Beach years ago. This town beat out Sarosata, Florida. Drum roll……This South Carolina Beach Town Is the Fastest Growing Place In America.
Here They Come!
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. According to US News and World Report, people are flocking to this area, and not just for a summer vacation. There are plenty of jobs available because of hospitality jobs up and down the Grand Strand. South Carolina’s low-income taxes help, too, compared to many other states.
Breakfast Ocean Front
Myrtle Beach has an off-season population of 37,000, but with visitors in the summer, it swells to 350,000. There are many places for entertainment and great restaurants; my favorite is the Sea Captain’s House, which has the best breakfast. If you go, their address is 3002 N Ocean Blvd.
Fore!
But the biggest draw is the beach! Golf is a big deal here, too. Myrtle Beach has over 100 golf courses, and Myrtle Beach calls itself “The Golf Capitol of the World.” Sports Illustrated even started here in 1954, at a golf club, of course.
Road Trip!
Also, from Myrtle Beach, it helps that you’re only two and a half hours from Charleston, and you can also go North and check out the beaches of North Carolina. It’s a beautiful ride north or south, dropping in some of the small beach towns along the way.
That’s a Big Wheel!
The Sky Wheel is the starring attraction in Myrtle Beach. It’s one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the United States. It’s more than a Ferris Wheel, though. This thing has 42 gondolas that can hold up to six riders each and are heated and cooled, so you’ll be comfortable 200 feet in the air.
