The country superstar has released four studio albums to date, including one song in particular that continues to melt the hearts of his fans all over the world (including our CMA Awards host Jeff Kurkjian).
Kurkjian and Combs have something in common, and it’s a beautiful thing, literally. He and his wife, along with the Entertainer of the Year nominee and his wife Nicole danced to his No. 1 hit “Beautiful Crazy” at their weddings.
Luckily for us, we got a private performance of the track featured on Combs’ 2017 album, This One’s For You, but we are calling it the “ukulele version.” Kurkjian couldn’t resist the singalong heading into the 2023 CMA Awards.
Combs co-wrote “Beautiful Crazy” alongside Rob Williford and Wyat Durrette. It was a staple during his 2023 world tour and will continue to be when he returns to the road for his ‘Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour’ in 2024.
Last month, Combs performed a show in Glasgow, Scotland, at the OVO Hydro Arena. He came out in a traditional kilt to honor his fans there and we had to get all the details behind it.
“So, you know, that’s most of my ancestry: Scottish. And so my cousin, I grew up going to watch him. He was an athlete in the Highland Games. He’s got like seven or eight world records in that,” Combs told Kurkjian. “So I grew up going and watching him. Right, and so they compete in kilts and stuff. And so that tartan is actually like my mother’s maiden name is Fraser. And so that’s the Fraser tartan that I love. So it was awesome.“
