The Last KICKS 99 Guitar Pull At The Old James Brown Arena In Augusta
This was it. After twenty four years, we go Behind The Scenes At The Last Guitar Pull In Augusta. The James Brown Arena will be torn down next year to make room for a new, larger, state-of-the-art arena. Don’t worry; we already have a date for the KICKS 99 Guitar Pull in the new arena in a couple of years.
The KICKS 99 Guitar Pull will go on in another venue in 2024 (still working on that), and next year is the 25th anniversary!
KICKS 99 has built this concert from 400 seats at Sacred Heart Cultural Center (our first show), and it has grown every year. After that first one we moved to the Imperial Theatre and then The Bell Auditorium, and after a couple of years at the Aiken Convocation Center, we have made the James Brown home.
This year’s show was special and included local guys Charles Kelly, Dave Haywood and honorary local Hillary Scott. Newcomer Corey Kent was a hit, and everyone loved Megan Moroney, a Georgia girl. Also, Brett Young, Jake Owen, and Scotty McCreery were all great!
Now, we start planning for our 25th-anniversary show next November. We start a year out booking this show. Enjoy the pictures, and let us know who you would like to see on the 2024 Guitar Pull!
