Life Hack: Opening A Tough Jar Lid
It has happened to me more times than I’d like to admit. Not being able to open a tough jar lid. My fiancé, David, jokes and says, “Do you even work out?” It drives me crazy though! Thankfully, there’s a new life hack for opening a tough jar lid making the rounds online! This guy posted a video of his trick for opening those stubborn lids.
Apparently, all you do is take a spoon, stick it underneath the lid along one of the grooves, then gently pry the lid away from the glass. This supposedly gets the suction to release, making it easier to twist the lid off. But, this isn’t a NEW trick. There are other examples of this online. Some people commented on the video saying they’ve been doing this with stubborn jar lids for years. However, it is new info for some people!
You do need to be careful with this life hack though! When opening that tough jar lid, the glass could break or shatter. Leaving you with a big mess, and the risk of cutting yourself. Also, this trick only works if the lid is stuck due to pressure during the sealing process. Of course the lid could be stuck for other reasons.
