There is no one more excited than me to say be able to finally say, King George Is Coming To Atlanta. It’s like Christmas Day to me. George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, & Willie Nelson and family. October 22nd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

George Strait ranks 3rd in my top 5 of all-time favorite country stars behind Merle Haggard and George Jones. I was hooked the very first time I heard “Unwound”. As a kid saving his pennies and dimes to buy records, I bought at least 3 copies of this 45 single because I would play it to death. I even put it on a cassette tape and let it play over and over and over. My first Strait show was in Greenville South Carolina in 84ish maybe? This was the beginning of many George Strait shows that I would go to and still go to.
There’s no fancy stage, no loud music or lights, just as he talked about in Pure Country, but what you get, Is Pure Country. What I loved the most was that he just sang and sang. Not a lot of talk, just played the music. George credits Merle Haggard as his musical hero and you can hear it in his music. George will still play a Merle song or two in concert.
