This Georgia Roadside Attraction Has Goats On The Roof
Well, this was a bit different. As I was in the Georgia mountains, I saw a store on the side of the road in Tiger, Georgia, with goats on the roof. Yes, goats. They walked up and down walkways to the ground and back up to the roof. This Georgia Roadside Attraction Has Goats On The Roof.
History
It seems their motivation is snacks that you can buy inside the store. This is not the only Goats on the Roof attraction. The concept dates back over 40 years ago in Wisconsin. Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant wanted something to attract more customers, and someone, obviously very creative, came up with the idea of letting goats graze on the sodded roof of the restaurant. It is still open today in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. There is also a Goats on the Roof in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
14 Goats and A Big Roof
The Goats on the Roof in Tiger has 14 goats. There is also a general store with novelty items and souvenir clothing I mean, who doesn’t want a goat sweatshirt? Also, homemade fudge ice cream, baked goods, and more. Also, you can try your luck gem mining, and yes, you can feed the goats with the food your purchase in the general store.
America
Eating fudge, mining for gems, buying clothes, and feeding goats. Ain’t America great?!
I did notice that the children were having the time of their life feeding and watching the goats run up and down the goat-ways to the roof and back down, which obviously works up a healthy appetite.
It’s definitely worth a stop when you’re in the Tiger Georgia area, which is next to Clayton, Georgia. I hope you have fun!
