I-20 Augusta Lane Changes Coming This Week
We’ve all been dealing with the I-20 construction on the Georgia-South Carolina line for over four years, but the end is in sight.
I’m told we should have all six lines open by the end of May. I hear you applauding right now.
Look, you don’t replace four bridges in a few months. It takes time and even longer when you throw COVID into that. Supply chain issues slowed it down, too.
I-20 Augusta Lane Changes
This Friday, you’ll see a lane change Eastbound on I-20 just past Riverwatch Parkway. In the past, they have done this very early in the morning. It appears they are moving us to the right, and we’ll be on the new bridges.
They are now making the forms for the center concrete wall on I-20. Concrete will be poured next. The I-20 Augusta lane changes gets us closer to a finished project.
It will be nice to have six lanes instead of four and traffic will move so much better. After all is said and done, According to the contractor, Superior Construction Company, a lot has gone into this project.
