Do The Guys Of Midland Sound Like Brothers?
Some have heard Midland‘s harmonies and thought they were listening to brothers. And the guys think that’s a pretty fantastic compliment.
Harmonizing as Midland does isn’t easy, though, and it took a lot of practice. “I definitely remember a time [when] we were going to the rehearsal space every single day, seven days a week, [with] just the three of us around one guitar and a piano and going through our songs note for note, word for word, phrase by phrase, figuring out [each others’ parts],” the trio’s Cameron Duddy says through the group’s record label. “And what and feeling [and] real sense of accomplishment we had [after getting] through the songs.”

Working so hard makes compliments all the more welcome, of course. “A person said, ‘It sounds like you guys share DNA, the way that you guys sing together, like your voices blend like you’re brothers,'” Cameron recalls. “Honestly [that’s] the highest compliment that anyone’s ever given us.”
Fans can hear those harmonies live and in person during CMT On Tour, where the guys appear with Jon Pardi. Check upcoming tour dates here. Their debut album On The Rocks is available now.
