Friday, June 7th if you are looking for some family fun, why not make Hops and Hogs part of your night? The 8th annual Hops and Hogs will have the streets of Downtown Aiken not only full of people but the smell of BBQ and great food will the air.

Hops and Hogs kicks off Friday at 5:00pm and will run till around 10:00pm. It’s cost you nothing to get in to enjoy this night of music and fun. Hops and Hogs will be held on Newberry Street.

What To Expect At Hops and Hogs This Year

As in the past you can expect first and foremost, a fun night in Downtown Aiken. This is an event that The Aiken Downtown Development Association puts on for the citizens of Aiken and the surrounding area. This will not only be a good time to just come and enjoy Hops and Hops, it will also give you time to enjoy being in Downtown Aiken to visit the many stores and restaurants that Aiken has to offer.

Things you can expect to see at Hops and Hogs:

  • Live Music
  • Multiple Bar-B-Que Food Vendors
  • Beer stations for the grown ups
  • A big kids zone to keep the kids busy
  • A ton of smiling people having fun and enjoying Hops and Hogs

The Aiken Downtown Development Association Stays Busy

Hops and Hogs is just one of the many events that The Aiken Downtown Development Associations brings to the residents of Aiken. Through out the year.

Their mission statement kind of sums it up., “The purpose of ADDA is to improve the economic vitality, enhance the beauty, and preserve the historical inheritance of downtown Aiken.”

Their vision statement also tells you why events like Hops and Hogs is so important to them. “Downtown Aiken’s improvements attract new businesses, residents, shoppers, and tourists. ADDA is recognized as a national leader in community innovation.”

The Aiken Downtown Development Association is made up of members and lots of volunteers who all work together to make Downtown Aiken the destination play for families and the citizens of Aiken to enjoy the city, have great places to eat and shop and also continue to help bring new business to Downtown Aiken.

So Many Other Events Happen Through Out The Year In Aiken

The Aiken Downtown Development Association every year has a calendar full of fun events that take place in Downtown Aiken.

For the rest of the year, hear are a few events to look forward to in Downtown Aiken

Market in the Alley is every Thursday in June.

July 18th, Summer Sip’ and Shop’

August 2nd – 4th will be South Carolina Tax Free Weekend and Sidewalk Sales Event
August 31st-The Labor Day Sidewalk Sale.

October 5th is the annual October Fest

November 30th-Small Business Saturday in Downtown Aiken

December will be a busy month.
December 6th-The Annual Christmas Tree lighting.
December 8th-The Aiken Christmas Parade
December 12th-A Night Of A Thousand Lights
December 19th-The Ladies Night Out Shop & Sip’

So as you can see Downtown Aiken is a booming city that if you’ve not visited in a while, Has some great opportunities coming up for you to make the visit. If you do not want to wait for one of these great events, head over today and have lunch or dinner, and just walk the beautiful streets of Downtown Aiken.
