Ever since Cole Swindell released “She Had Me At Heads Carolina”, Jo Dee Messina’s career has seen a big jump all over again!  But today we celebrate Jo Dee Messina because of another song she had a great big ol’ hit with called, “Bye Bye.”

Curb Records Nashville released “Bye Bye” to country radio on September 29, 1997.  It was the first single from her second album, “I’m Alright”.  It was Jo Dee’s first number one song to go number 1.  She followed up “Bye Bye” up with “I’m Alright” which went to number one.  Both “Bye Bye” and “I’m Alright” was written by country artist Phil Vassar.  Her Third number one from the album was Stand Beside Me.

With 6 number one songs, she was the first female country artist to score three multiple-week number-one songs from the same album, CMA & ACM Award Winner, BillBoard Magazine Award Winner, and Grammy Nominated.

On September 6, 2017, Jo Dee Messina revealed she had been diagnosed with unspecified cancer. All 2017 tour dates after October 7 were postponed as she underwent treatments in the fall. She resumed touring in March 2018.
