Nashville’s Downtown Bar Scene is changing and If you haven’t been to Nashville lately, we’ll the next time you go, you are in for a big surprise. A walk up and down lower Broadway will be a shock to you. The new thing along Lower Broadway is a bar with an artist name on it.

If you go back many many years it was something you never really saw in Downtown Nashville. It was mainly know to be the home of Tootsies Orchid Lounge and Legends Corner with a few bars and old fashion beer joints here and there.

This is one of my favorite places to be in Nashville.

Nashville’s Downtown Bar Scene Is Changing But For The Better

In the 90’s downtown Nashville was close to be just a memory. Even the Ryman Auditorium was closing to being demolished until Marty Stuart got involved and headed up a group that helped bring the Ryman back to life.

So as Nashville’s downtown bar scene is changing, it’s starting to see more and more bars, kitchens and Honky Tonks that has the name of your favorite artist.

Time To See In Person Nashville’s Downtown Bar Scene Is Changing

While we have a lot of country artist opening bars in Nashville, 80’s rocker Jon Bon Jovi most recently opened a bar called “JBJ” along with all the other bars that have opened recently to have Jon Bon Jovi throw a rock themed bar is just very cool. My next trip to Nashville will include a trip to “JBJ” As a kid of the 80’s, there was no better rocker than Bon Jovi.

Other artist who have bars downtown

*Lainey Wilson-Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up
*Dierks Bentley-Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row – Nashville
*Miranda Lambert-Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa
*Blake Shelton-Ole Red
*Jon Rich-Redneck Riviera Bar & BBQ
*Hank Williams Jr-Hank Williams Jr Boogie Bar
*Kid Rock-Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse

Jelly Roll also has plans to open a bar in Nashville soon. Now while visiting Nashville, Don’t let the lights of lower Broad and all the artist themed bars keep ya away from great bars for music and food. Printers Alley is just off Lower Broad and has another whole role of great bars and honky tonk’s with great food and music.

So while Nashville’s Downtown Bar Scene is changing, please don’t forget to visit locations like, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Legends Corner, Layla’s, Roberts Western Wear and all the other great locations up and down lower Broad

  • Luke Bryan-Luke Bryan's 32 Bridge

Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge is one of the coolest bars you will find off Lower Broadway.  The food at Luke’s 32 Bridge is really good.  I’ve been many times and Luke actually has approval on what food is served and he is changing the menu on a regular basis to keep it fresh and new.

  • Garth Brooks-Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk Grill

Garth Brooks is one of the few bar owners who actually own the bar with his name on it.  Garth was a part of this bar from the idea of doing the bar, till the day it opened.  Hulu even did a documentary on Garth and  his journey of being a bar owner.  Garth and Trisha oversee every aspect of this bar from the drinks, the food, the music and how it’s decorated.

  • Morgan Wallen-Morgan Wallen's This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen

Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen  maybe the most successful of all the “artist” bars in Nashville.  There are many levels to Morgan’s place and there is always a line to get in and  maybe the most photographed bar on Lower Broad.  Every one wants to have a picture with anything with Morgan Wallen’s name in it.

  • Luke Combs-Category 10

This is the newest bar in Nashville.  You will not find this bar on Lower Broadway.  Its on 2nd Ave and it’s the former location of the Wild Horse Saloon.  Every floor of Category 10 has one or two stages of live music on each stage.  Luke is another one of the bar owners who has a say in all that happens in Category 10.  Luke’s promises that when you leave Category 10, you will be as connected to him in ways you would never have thought possible

  • Eric Church-Chief's on Broadway

Another one of today’s biggest stars to put his name on a bar is Eric Church.  A multi-layered bar and kitchen that was a concept of Eric’s is now open.  While Eric put a ton of his personal time and energy into the Chief’s, the biggest head line he has received from his named bar was having Morgan Wallen throw a chair off the roof top.  The song with Morgan and Eric did go to number one the next day.  The song, Man Made  A Bar.  Go Figure

  • Alan Jackson-AJ's Good Time Bar

Alan Jackson’s AJ’s Good Time Bar maybe on the most basic bars on Lower Broadway, it’s the one bar you can count on to hear “Country” music.  While Alan doesn’t have a lot to do with the day to day operation of of AJ’s Good Time Bar, he had one demand and one demand only.  The artist who play there must play “Country” music.   Alan is one of the most traditional artist to carry the torch for country music and he wants that tradition to continue if his name is on the sign out front.  If you go to Nashville and wanna be guaranteed to hear “Country” music, AJ’s Good Time Bar is a must stop,.
