One of the things we love to do here at Kicks 99 is bring you new music.  The next generation of country if you will.  Let’s talk about the country artists to watch in 2024.  We are starting to see traditional country music make its return to the radio.  This is something I’m very happy to see.   Each new year brings a batch of new artists who are ready to set country music and fire.

The Big Ones From 2023

When we did this list at the start of 2023 it featured some names of people who did have a good 2023 and did big things in country music.

  • Nate Smith
  • Warren Zeiders
  • Hailey Whiters
  • Megan Moroney
  • Bailey Zimmerman

Nate Smith had 2 number one songs.  Warren Zeiders made his Opry Debut, had 1.4 billion TikTok Streams and 895 million streams of his music.  Hailey Whiters had a number one song with “Every Thing She Ain’t.” Megan Moroney hit the chart with “Tennessee Orange.” It peaked at Number 4 on the charts and was nominated for the CMA’s Song of The Year and she played the Kicks 99 Guitar Pull.  Bailey had 3 number one songs and spent the year on the road with Morgan Wallen.

The artists you are about to meet, I think will do big things in country music this year.  Now the year is long and we will be hearing from even more new artists as the year goes on.  I hope you enjoy these new country artists and once you listen to them, do some deep diving and learn more about these future stars.  So here we go with the country artists to watch in 2024.

  • Zach Top

Little did I know when I went to the Dwight Yoakum concert at The Bell  back in April of 2023 that the young man opening the show would be signed to a Nashville record label.  Zach Top lists George Strait as his hero in music.  He’s one of the guys who wants to keep traditional country music alive.  There’s fiddle and steel guitar in this song.  This is “Sounds Like The Radio”, By Zach Top

  • Kelsey Hart

“Life With You” is a song Kelsey wrote as a gift to his wife and it was the song they danced to for the first time as husband and wife.  When Kelsey came to Nashville, it was to be a songwriter and he has written songs for Jake Owen, Dylan Scott and Trace Adkins.  Now he has his own deal Curb Records.  To me, he has Cole Swindell kind of a voice.

  • Ashley Cooke

From Parkland Florida, just about 42 miles from Miami.  Not many country music singers come from the Miami area. The first song that put Ashley in the spotlight was a duet with Brett Young called, “Never Til Now”  It peaked at #49 on the Billboard chart in 2023.  That song led her to being signed to a major recording contract with Big Loud Records which happens to be home to Morgan Wallen.

  • Ryan Larkins

Ryan Larkins another guy in 2024 fighting to bring back traditional country music.  In his debut song, “King Of Country Music” he’s paying tribute to Randy Travis, Merle Haggard, George Jones & George Strait.  Interesting fact about Ryan, he is one of the few artist that was actually born and raised in Nashville.

  • Hunter Girl

Hunter Girl-You may know her from American Idol.   She was runner up on season 20 in 2022.  American Idol has been very good to country music with the likes of Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery & Kelly Clarkson.  Her debut song is called “Ain’t About You”.  Look out 2024, Hunter Girl is coming our way.

  • Annie Bosko

Annie Bosko.  She hits the country music world in 2024 with her debut, “Neon Baby.”  Annie is one of the new females in country music this year also wanting to keep that traditional country music sound alive.   With Patsy Cline, George Strait and Dwight Yoakum as your music heroes, it’s hard not be traditional.
