Who are the top horror movie villains? It’s spooky season, and we’re all watching way more scary movies than we probably would normally. The best part about any horror movie is the villain. A good horror movie villain will keep you coming back movie after movie. And usually, they do, think about how many sequels each horror movie usually gets. I mean they’ve done how many Halloween movies now?

Who are the best ones though? There are so many to choose from, but these are the top horror movie villains. At least the best ones I can think of.

Also if you’re looking for a good horror movie to watch on your next date night, check out this list.

  • Freddy Krueger

When you think horror movies, you have to think of Freddy Krueger. He’s been a horror movie staple since “A Nightmare On Elm Street” came out back in 1984. Freddy = money, look how many Freddy movies there have been.

  • Jason Voorhees

When you say Freddy Krueger, you automatically think Jason Voorhees. Jason is another horror movie icon. In fact I bet every time you see a hockey mask, you think of Jason! He’s older than Freddy too. The first “Friday The 13th” movie came out in 1980. And again look at how many sequels have been made

  • Michael Myers

We’ve already hit Jason and Freddy, now we’ve got to talk about Michael Myers. He’s seemingly the horror movie villain that just won’t die! You think he’s gone at the end of every movie, but nope! He’s back for a sequel every few years. Apparently he died for good this year, we’ll see. Michael is the oldest villain so far, the first “Halloween” movie came out in 1978.

  • Pennywise

It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about the original “It” from 1990 or the 2017 remake, Pennywise The Clown is freaky. He’s way freakier in the 2017 version. There are a lot of people I know who can’t stand clowns, and I think this movie is one of the reasons why. For that, Pennywise makes the list.

  • Leatherface

Another horror movie villain who has been featured in more than one sequel or reboot is Leatherface. Of all of the villains we’ve mentioned so far Leatherface is the oldest. The original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” movie came out in 1974. And just like the rest of this list, Leatherface has spawned a bunch of sequels and reboots. I think of all of the horror movie villains that we’ve talked about, Leatherface is my favorite.
