The new law will go into effect on July 1, 2018.
The law prohibits drivers in Georgia from using their phone while in their vehicle — Unless they are parked.
According to WRDW, drivers could even get a ticket for using their mobile device while stopped at a red light.
Police in Georgia will now be able to pull people over if they are holding a phone or seem distracted by a navigational app on their mobile device.
