Life Lessons From An Appalachian Woman
I came across this beautiful video on TikTok recently and wanted to share it. I’m not sure about the back story, or what led to this guy interviewing her. But it’s amazing to hear the stories and life lessons from an Appalachian woman. She was born in 1934, and in the video, she says she’ll be 87 in April. So this video was probably taken a couple of years ago.
She talks about things throughout her life… including not having electricity or running water. And she talks about the few things she does buy at the store, but that she grows everything else.
I love when she talks about her health! And the secret to her healthy limbs and joints. She also plays guitar and sings! There are so many life lessons we can learn from the older generations.
Listening to her talk makes me miss my grandparents! I wonder what life lessons they would have shared with me. My mom’s parents both passed away before I was 5 years old. And then my dad’s dad passed away long before my parents met. My dad’s mom passed away when I was about 12 or 13.
I can say, I am thankful for many people who have been a part of my life and been like grandparents to me. I have learned a lot from them, and don’t ever want to take them for granted!
Enjoy the life lessons from this Appalachian woman, Ruby!
