Augusta Needs A Dog Park Bar
There’s no need to tell you that I’m a huge dog lover… you probably know that if you’ve been around me for more than 30 seconds. My dogs are my children, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. While I am not really able to take mine to various places (because they just get too excited), I do love any place that welcomes dogs. And I know there are restaurants and bars around here that allow dogs, but I really think Augusta needs a dog park bar!
I came across a list on Yelp of 25 dog park bars. Of course, I had to look and see if there were any near here! But unfortunately, the only ones I saw were in Atlanta and Charlotte.
Fetch Park – Atlanta
In Atlanta, there’s Fetch Park. They actually have multiple locations – Alpharetta, Buckhead, Old Fourth Ward, and Fetch Park @ The Works. It looks like there’s also a location in Columbus too.
These dog park bars are great places for dog lovers who still want to hang out with friends, but don’t want to leave their BEST friend behind! It’s a safe space to socialize your pup, and socialize with your friends. Not to mention the happiness you’ll get from seeing so many wiggle-butts!
Entry is free for humans (and you don’t have to have a pup to visit)! And they always ensure that safety is a top priority. Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, be spayed/neutered if they are over 8 months old, and be of a certain age as well. More on their rules HERE.
Fetch Park appears to use a mobile app so you can create an account that you can update with vaccination and vet records. Another cool thing is there’s an all turf field– which means you don’t have to worry about muddy paws! They also have heating and cooling stations, park lighting, TVs, and a full airstream bar!
Lucky Dog Bark And Brew – Charlotte
The Lucky Dog Bark and Brew has three locations in the Charlotte area. One thing that I like about this one is there have indoor and outdoor play areas. That means, even if the weather isn’t ideal, you can still help your pup burn off some energy while catching up with friends!
Like Fetch Park, Lucky Dog Bark and Brew has multiple televisions throughout, along with a heated and covered patio to enjoy even during colder weather. I also love the fact that each of their locations have some dog park obstacles your dog can play on!
At Lucky Dog, they do require your dog be spayed/neutered if they are 6 months or older. And like Fetch Park, they have to be updated on their vaccinations. While Fetch Park will allow children (the human kind), Lucky Dog is 21 and over only. The only children allowed are the furry kind!
Both places do not allow outside food (even treats) or toys. But dogs are able to enjoy the facilities off leash. They even let you reserve space for private parties! They also host some events that look like they would be a lot of fun!
At Lucky Dog, they have a full bar, with rotating craft beer taps from local breweries. They don’t have a restaurant onsite, but work with food trucks and local restaurants to provide takeout options.
Augusta Needs A Dog Park Bar
So, yes, I think Augusta needs a dog park bar! Don’t these places look like so much fun? As long as rules are followed, I think it would be a really great place for the area! A little different than just your traditional dog park. And a way to get together with your friends without having to leave your dog at home! Because if I’m being honest, I don’t go out a lot because after working so much during the week, I feel a bit guilty leaving the pups at home longer than I have to!
