The First Song From Lady A Is On Dub’s Playlist
Back in 2008, we heard the first song from Lady A. I loved the song then, and it’s still one of my favorites by them today. Of course, Lady A will be performing at this year’s Kicks99 Guitar Pull. They only got to sing 5 songs that night. I’m really hoping that one of those songs is this one. Who knows, it could happen.
In 2008 when this song came out, I remember how excited everyone was about it. Everyone here in the CSRA was fired up because of Lady A’s local connection. In case you didn’t know, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood from Lady A are from Augusta. All of us in the radio business were excited too. We’ve been hearing a lot of hype about this awesome new band coming out, and we were really looking forward to checking out the music.
From the first time I heard this song, I loved it! Lady A came to the CSRA twice during the year of 2008. The first time they played here was at a show at the Columbia County Amphitheater, the one behind the library in Evans. Then a few months later, they played our Kicks99 Guitar Pull at the USCA Convocation Center. 2008 is the last time Lady A played the Kicks99 Guitar Pull, we’re so excited to have them back on the Guitar Pull stage this year.

The first song from Lady A is what’s on the playlist this week. Hope y’all enjoy “Love Don’t Live Here”.
I’ve had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with Lady A over the years. Let’s take a look back.
Dub's Memories With Kicks99 Guitar Pull Stars Lady A
Lady A are returning to the Kicks99 Guitar Pull this year, for the first time since 2008. Of course, they’ve been here in the CSRA between 2008 and 2023, but this will be their first Guitar Pull appearance. I’ve been very fortunate to spend quite a bit of time with Lady A over the years. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
I remember the first time I had the chance to meet Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood was back in early 2008. They played a show with Luke Bryan out at the Columbia County Amphitheater. Of course, they weren’t the big stars they are now, and neither was Luke, they each had maybe one song out at the time.
Lady A and Luke both came back for Guitar Pull in 2008. That night they shined and definitely stole the show. Lady A joined Luke Bryan in the first-ever performance of his song “Do I”. Charles and Dave from Lady A finished writing the song with Luke earlier that day. It wouldn’t be long before Luke and Lady A’s careers would both skyrocket!
Over the next few years, Lady A would come back to Augusta pretty regularly. They brought their tour here a couple of times. They played the opening of the Lady A Pavilion at Evans Town Center Park. Lady A also played Rock Fore Dough back in 2017. That was the last time they’ve played in the CSRA as a band.
Charles Kelley has played some solo shows here over the past few years, but the Kicks99 Guitar Pull this year will mark Lady A’s return to Augusta!
