Lainey Wilson Gets Peachy
Bell bottom country is coming to the upstate! This year marks the 45th anniversary, and Lainey Wilson will be the headliner for the South Carolina Peach Festival in Gaffney, S.C. Lainey is one of the hottest artists on tour right now.
This will be a great show! Save the date… Friday, July 14th. Tickets are on sale this Friday, April 28th. Country newcomer Drew Parker will also be on stage.
It’s a nice drive to Gaffney from the Augusta area… about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
When I lived in Greenville, I went every year. I remember seeing Merle Haggard one year, it was raining, and they pulled a minivan with Merle in the back behind the stage. He had been indulging in some cold beverages, and it took him a few minutes to get out of the van… HA! But, when he went on stage, he killed it! Gotta love the Hag.
If you go, there are a couple of places you should check out if you arrive early. One you can’t miss is the peachoid water tower on I-85 in Gaffney. The Peachoid is a water tower shaped like a peach. Yep, true story. Some say it looks like what Lainey is famous for, other than her singing… 🙂
Also, about 35 minutes away in Spartanburg is the Beacon restaurant. They are known for their chili cheeseburger, sweet onion rings, and French fries. They’ve been serving food here since 1946.
