The Wake Up Krew’s Fall Festival Candy Corn Taste Test
The new Brach’s Fall Festival Candy Corn is out now! Of course, just like with any new snack, we had to do a taste test. This wasn’t just any kind of candy corn, this was six different flavors of candy corn in one bag. Of course, the fact that these are “fall” flavors has us intrigued as well. So what did these taste like? We’ll get to that in just a few minutes.
A few weeks ago, we first talked about this in “Trending News With The Krew.” We read that Brach’s was releasing their new flavor of candy corn. We read that the new flavors would be kettle corn, caramel apple, cotton candy, lemonade shake up, strawberry funnel cake and lemon lime snow cone.
Originally we thought that each flavor would be its own separate bag. I’d been looking for these new flavors for a few weeks and couldn’t find them. Well this past weekend, I was at Walmart in Grovetown and I spotted the bag. It was then I realized that all of the new flavors were in the same bag. Then we knew it was time for a test taste!
As we figured, there were flavors that we liked better than others. Which flavors were they? Check out the video.

Most Popular Halloween Candy in Georgia and South Carolina
Halloween is just over two weeks away. But Halloween candy has been in stores for quite a while already. Pretty sure it hit shelves not long after the 4th of July! And Christmas candy… it’ll probably hit shelves as soon as the Halloween candy is cleared! But when it comes down to it, what is the most popular Halloween candy?
The Research
CandyStore.com has done the research for us! The website gathered 15 years’ worth of data to bring you the most popular Halloween candy in each state. Of course, Halloween 2020 was definitely different for trick-or-treating and Halloween events. Last year, there was a bit more normalcy. But, CandyStore.com is predicting that this year will be “full-on normal-sized Halloween again.”
The National Retail Federation shows that Halloween candy spending should hit $3.1 BILLION this year! And that would make for a new all-time high. But we do have to wonder if it’s more candy being bought, or the rising costs that make that number so high.
And overall spending on Halloween is predicted to be over $10.6 billion, a 5% increase from last year.

So let’s get down to the real reason we’re here. We’re going to take a look at the top 3 favorite candies in both Georgia and South Carolina. The answers may surprise you. Take a look and see if your favorite made it into the top 3!
