The Kicks Wake Up Krew

I love sports movies. Football movies, and boxing movies, but I have always had an affinity for baseball movies. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved baseball movies. I would watch a good baseball movie, and then want to go outside and try to hit home runs at my grandmother’s house.

Baseball is “America’s Favorite Pastime”, and baseball has given us some of the best movies ever.I’ve seen a lot of great baseball movies, and I’ve seen some bad ones too. This is my list of the best baseball movies ever! Do you agree with my list?

  • A League Of Their Own

Lets start with “A League Of Their Own”. What a great movie! It tells the story of a bunch of hardworking women playing baseball during World War 2. It’s based on a true story, and let me tell you these women could play some ball. “A League Of Their Own” features on of the best lines ever in a baseball movie, “Are you crying?! There’s no crying in baseball!” Definitely worth the watch if you’ve never seen it.

  • Rookie Of The Year

Next on my list is “Rookie Of The Year”. This is one of those movies that I loved as a kid, and could still watch start to finish as an adult. Henry Rowengardner has a freak accident and ends up with an arm capable of throwing the fastest fastballs ever seen. If you know anything about baseball, you know that this would totally never happen, but it’s a cool story, and chock full of 90s nostalgia. 100% Dub approved.

  • Major League

The next movie I consider one of the best baseball movies ever is “Major League”. This movie is so quotable. If you go to a baseball game with me, odds are you will here me use a few lines from “Major League’. I love this movie so much that I actually bet my hair on the Cleveland Indians (now the Cleveland Guardians) to be the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. The Indians lost and I had to dye my hair blue, but I still love “Major League”.

  • The Sandlot

Next we come to “The Sandlot”. My parents used to get so mad at me because every time we’d go to Blockbuster back in the 90s I’d want to rent this movie. “The Sandlot” is great for kids, it’s great for adults, it’s great for everybody. If you’re making a list of the best baseball movies ever, and “The Sandlot” isn’t on your list, your list isn’t valid! “The Sandlot” also gives us another great baseball movie line, “You’re killing’ me Smalls”!

  • Field Of Dreams

Finally we’ve come to what I believe is the best baseball movie ever,”Field Of Dreams”. This movie has everything a baseball movie should have. It’s timeless, it’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you tear up. It’s a movie that never gets old and a movie I could watch over and over again. Want more evidence that it’s the best baseball movie ever? The “Field Of Dreams” still exists. You can visit the site, they even play a Major League Baseball game there once a year.
