CSRA News: Augusta Ranked Number One Best Place in Georgia to Live and Retire
Augusta is number one, at least in the opinion of U.S. News and World Report which ranks the Garden City the Best Place in Georgia to Live and Retire.
Rankings out Tuesday placed Augusta 76th in the nation among places to live and 79th for retirement destinations, out-performing Atlanta and Savannah which placed second and third respectively among Georgia cities.
The magazine also noted Augusta’s low cost of living as well as family-friendly suburban communities in neighboring Columbia County that offer relatively easy commutes into the downtown.
