Yesterday we found out that Kicks99 has been nominated for another CMA Station of the Year award. It's such an amazing honor to be nominated. They narrow all of the radio stations in the country down to five, and we're in that five! This week's picture is from 2007. This was the first time Kicks99 ever won a CMA Station of the Year award. This picture was taken at the 2007 Guitar Pull.

Here's the funny story behind the picture. 2007 was the first year that Guitar Pull was held at the USCA Convocation Center in Aiken. Everyone else had already gone over to Aiken to start setting up. I was here at the station loading things up with the promotions crew. I get a call from Tee Gentry, and he asked me to bring the CMA with me. Me? Bring the CMA? Our first ever CMA, and you're trusting me to bring it?

I'm not going to lie, I buckled the award up in my passenger seat. Had anything happened to that CMA, I probably wouldn't be here typing this story. We've been blessed and fortunate to win two CMA Station of the Year awards now. Hopefully we'll be able to add number three this year.
