Christmas Vacation Fun Facts- Things You Didn’t Know About The Movie
I watch it at least five times during the Christmas season, and here are some Christmas Vacation Fun Facts. Christmas Vacation came out back in 1989, and it’s a staple in our house during the holidays. I don’t care how many times I’ve seen it, Christmas Vacation never gets old. We quote it all throughout the holiday season, honestly we quote it all through the year.
So did you know that in the scene when Clark Griswold punches the Santa and reindeer, he actually broke his little finger. Next time you’re watching the movie, when you see that scene, know that Chevy Chase was in a ton of pain. But that’s the footage they actually used in the movie. You can’t really reshoot that scene after that.
Speaking of Chevy Chase, the original director of the movie quit because he couldn’t work with Chevy Chase. Apparently Chevy has a history of being difficult to work with. I hate that because Clark Griswold seems is so likable in the movie.
Here’s another fact about Christmas Vacation. The lady that played Aunt Bethany is the same lady that did the voice for the cartoon character Betty Boop. Next time you watch the movie, you won’t listen to Aunt Bethany the same way again I promise.
