Local Augusta Stores Closing Their Doors Forever
For some businesses, the start of the new year hasn’t been looking too good, while others are just getting started. Several local Augusta businesses and chains are starting to see their last few days in the area. Find out which stores are closing in Augusta.
At the start of the year we’ve had places like Bealls Outlet close, Stay. Social, Tap + Table close, and Harbor Inn Seafood close. That’s just to name a few.
Now four months in, we are still seeing a few businesses closing their doors forever. In the Augusta Exchange shopping center, three businesses will be going away. Bed Bath and Beyond, O’ Charley’s, and Buy Buy Baby are closing their doors forever. O’Charley’s has already closed. There is no word on the exact date for the closing of the other two stores – But they have begun discounting items. Buy Buy Baby has most of its stuff marked down to 10 to 20 percent off.
There have been some concerns with the coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond because along with the closure announcement, they informed its customers that coupons and vouchers will no longer be redeemable. However, Big Lots made an announcement that they will take Bed Bath & Beyond’s coupon for a limited time, until May 7. The way it will work is if you make a purchase of at least $50 dollars, they will give a 20 percent discount in exchange for a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon.
But as were saying goodbye to a few, we are saying hello to many. The Village at the Riverwatch has been growing expeditiously over the past year. There are about 8 buildings under construction as of now. New dining options that we know for sure that are coming are Olive Carden and Crumbl cookie, which will be both of there of 2nd locations.
