The Sno-Cap Drive-In in North Augusta has $40,000 to help this historic restaurant stay around for another 60 years or so.  Many improvements have already been made since Havird Usry purchased the restaurant in 2019. Now, they have some money from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, 40K, to be exact. Sno-Cap Drive-In In North Augusta Has 40,000 Reasons To Celebrate.

Drop The W

Only 25 small or independently owned restaurants in the US received the historic grant this year. Four restaurants on Route 66 were chosen, and one, ironical enough, is a Snow Cap, too, but without a "W."  It's Delgadillo's Snow Cap in Seligman, Arizona, on Route 66.

Since 1964

Havird Usry, the owner of the Sno-Cap, told us they will use some of this money to renovate the iconic Sno-Cap sign that has been in front of the diner since opening in 1964. This work will help another business in the community, as Communigraphics in North Augusta will do the work. Sno-Cap Drive-In In North Augusta Has 40,000 Reasons To Celebrate.

Order Up!

Also, plans are to finish some of the enclosed dining area out front, and the parking lot has been improved and recently re-paved. Plus, the menu boards out front have already been renovated and you can still order from your car and your food will be brought to you., just let they did in the 60's.

One thing that doesn't need improving at the diner is the food and the excellent service. This is simply some of the best food in the Augusta-Aiken area. The hamburgers are excellent and you still get your drink in a frosted mug.

When You Think Tim McGraw

One of the biggest stars in music today ate at the Sno-Cap when she was visiting the area and she sang a few songs while there. Her name is Taylor Swift. You'll see her picture in the Sno-Cap dining room.

Thanks to the Usrys, who also own Fat Man's at Enterprise Mill and So-Sal, downtown, Sno-Cap  is in good hands for many more years to come!
