Mic check!

We have all seen a packed house at KICKS 99's Guitar Pull year after year, but have you seen it empty? Fortunately, we'll only see it this way BEFORE the show. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at KICKS 99's Guitar Pull before the event opens at 6:30 on the night of the show. An Empty KICKS 99 Guitar Pull.

Load In

First, the sound is loaded around 7 AM the morning of the event, and it usually takes 7 hours or so to hang speakers and a giant LED video screen and set up the stage. An Empty KICKS 99 Guitar Pull doesn't stay that way long.

Then comes sound check. This is where the artists come to test the mic they'll use and their inputs for guitars, etc. Once finished, the settings are saved, and they'll be ready to go with the correct settings when they are announced on stage at 7:30 that evening.

We Eat Good

Workers must eat, and food is brought in with coffee and biscuits, then lunch is served for stage workers and employees and KICKS staff who have been busy setting things up all morning.

Also, on the Saturday before Guitar Pull, KICKs staff start placing the souvenir bags loaded with great stuff on every seat in the arena.

Here They Come!

At about 6 PM, the artists arrive, go to their dressing rooms, and catch up with their fellow artists. This show is unique in that the artists get to see each other, hang out and talk, and perform on stage at the same time.

I can't wait for the 24th Annual KICKS 99 Guitar Pull this year. Another sell-out and another great line-up! See you November 14th at the James Brown Arena!
