If there is a dive diner around, you know I’ll find it. During my recent day trip to Edisto Island, I found another one! This laid back jungle shack diner…

If you're looking for a great place to have lunch or dinner at Edisto, this is your place.

What’s the beach without a couple painted Adirondack chairs on a deck? Everything at McConkey’s is colorful and adds to the beach town vibe.

If there is a dive diner around, you know I'll find it. During my recent day trip to Edisto Island, I found another one! This laid back jungle shack diner in South Carolina is located on... wait for it... Jungle Road.

When you pull into the parking lot, McConkey’s Jungle Shack has a fun vibe. The walls are full of fun dive diner art, including what looks like an old Volkswagen van door with peace signs, a keyboard, and a guitar painted on it.  Also, signs like "Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way" and "Today's Menu, two choices, take it or leave it."

I had a hamburger and homemade "snack chips," which were great, and the staff was very friendly. The dining room is a screen porch, and they have a deck for outdoor dining, too. This place fits the laid back attitude of Edisto Beach. It really is a Laid Back Jungle Shack Diner In South Carolina. A classic!

The menu includes items like a Cuban sandwich, hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chips, and more. Since I was there during the off-season, it was not crowded. I can only imagine how busy this place is in the summer. The menu says, "All food cooked to order. Please be patient. It's worth the wait. "

Hey, it's the beach. Everything moves slower here. That's why we love it. I hope y'all enjoy this cool diner on your next trip to Edisto Beach!
