The old piano sits in the corner of the church. I can only imagine how many hymns have been played on this.

This is one of my best back road finds. I happened upon this old church in Georgia and found out it dates back to 1899—Antioch Baptist Church in Crawfordville in Taliaferro County, Georgia. This Historic Georgia Church is Frozen In Time.

As you enter, you first notice it looks like someone just left. As I approached the altar, I saw money in the offering plates, with notes from people who took the money and said they'd be back to repay it. It appears people who visit the church leave money for that reason, to help people who need it.

The curtains wave in the wind from a broken window. The old piano and a couple of worn-out chairs are next to a broken window, and there's a bible on the pulpit.

Outside, the Gothic-style towers catch your attention and make a statement from the road. The old cemetery is on the right as you walk inside the church. Antioch no longer has regular services, but every August, families of the original congregation return for services.

The church has a few cracked windows worn from time and the elements, but it is still beautiful. I would love to see this church restored to its original condition.
