Free Health Fair in Augusta for Those 55+
Augusta University announced a free health fair in Augusta this Saturday.
The “Winning at Wellness Health Fair and Walk” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 11th. It will be hosted at Warren Road Community Center at 300 Warren Road in Augusta. The event is for those age 55 and up.
The College of Allied Health Sciences and the Dental College of Georgia have organized the event. Several booths will be on site with medical education and screening on fall prevention, home safety, oral health, women’s health, men’s health and more.
A wellness walk is also part of the event. The walk will be around a mile and be wellness focused giveaways throughout the day.
“Cody” Blaine Jackson is one half of the Kicks Wake Up Krew on Kicks 99, and also serves as the Digital Program Director for Beasley Media Group in Augusta. She’s a Georgia native but currently resides just across the river in South Carolina. She started in the radio industry as a part-time board operator, and moved up through various roles, including on-air positions and program director for multiple stations. Her passions include fitness and anything to do with animals, as she has two fur babies, her dogs Harley and Waylon. Cody likes to write about pets, fitness and Augusta local events.
