Popeyes Releases Frosted Strawberry Biscuits! Here’s A Review
Popeyes has just reinvented one of its most popular menu items, the biscuit, making it a little sweeter! On Monday, March 27, Popeyes released their new “Frosted Strawberry Biscuits” to participating restaurants nationwide.
Now I’m sure most of you remember when Popeyes added another new item to their menu back in 2019 – the fried chicken sandwich. That sandwich sent everyone into a frenzy. Lines were wrapped around the restaurant for months after the release. The police actually had to direct traffic at one of the local Popeyes just because of that chicken sandwich!
Even after that whole fiasco, I’ve learned that when Popeyes drops a new item, you’ve just got to try it!
Now, I haven’t seen that type of mania over these biscuits, but they are definitely a hot topic on social media.

In a press release from Popeyes, Amy Alarcon, Vice President of Culinary Innovation stated, “We are thrilled to introduce the latest culinary creation to our dessert menu, the irresistible Strawberry Biscuits. The perfect combination of our classic, buttery biscuits and the flavor of ripe, fruity strawberries, Strawberry Biscuits offer a delicious touch of sweetness to any meal.”
Lucky for us, we’ve got a few Popeyes in the CSRA. So, I went just to see what this new dessert item was all about.
I feel like I should start by saying I don’t have the biggest, sweet tooth, but for them, I gave it a try. I grabbed one biscuit for the price of $2.59. They also had the option for two biscuits for $3.59 and four biscuits for $5.39.
The biscuit was warm and topped with sweet, creamy icing. I could already see bits of strawberry on the outside layer. I split the biscuit down the middle to see if some strawberry jelly of some sort would ooze out, but there wasn’t any. But I did in fact see more strawberry bits.
My overall thought of the biscuit was that it wasn’t bad. Actually, pretty tasty and not overly sweet. On a scale of 1-10, I would honestly give the strawberry biscuit a 10/10 rating.
If you are already a fan of Popeyes biscuits and also got a thing for sweets, this just might land a spot on your favorites list. Don’t wait around to long to try this item, because it’s only around for a limited time.
