I live in North Augusta, and I’ve seen house prices rise a good bit since I bought mine about six years ago. Even with the interest rates where they are today, to appears to me, new housing sells faster than they can build them. I know the North Augusta and Graniteville areas have new ones going up constantly.
While I love North Augusta, I would love to have some land in Edgefield, which used to be inexpensive compared to other areas, but it now seems prices have caught up there, too. With that being said, I tell friends in Nashville what I paid for my house, and they always seem shocked that housing is that inexpensive here compared to Nashville. By the way, the average housing price in Music City is $575,000.
