Maren Morris played a show to promote her new album, Humble Quest in New York City and revealed something to the crowd. Maren wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram, “Last night I shared something on stage I haven’t shared with many people beyond my husband and a few close friends…I fell out of love with music for a brief time during this pandemic. As someone who has been performing since a young teen, it’s been a calling, but it’s also been a job. Maybe I didn’t fall out of love with music, but I certainly fell out of love with the music business (or were we ever in love? I’m not actually sure, haha).”

She continued, “Through these years and through these original work tapes I’m sharing with you now, old shreds of myself fell away, and new, stronger bones began to take their place. My musical cells regenerated into who I am today, and Humble Quest is the Polaroid of that soulful hyperbaric chamber bringing me back to life.

I am a very sensitive person, and I am starting to wear it like a badge of honor now rather than a burden.”
