Summerville Scoops in Augusta is Offering a Harry Potter Like Flavor – Butterbeer!
Harry Potter fans, the CSRA has a treat just for you! The Famous Harry Potter drink, Butterbeer, is available as an ice cream flavor at Summerville Scoops.
The unique concoction became so popular from the Harry Potter book series, that many have recreated it in real life just to get a taste.
Even much so, that a local ice cream shop has made it into an ice cream flavor. Summerville Scoops announced that the Butterbeer ice cream now available. “It’s smooth and buttery with a light caramel flavor” is how Summerville Scoops described the flavor.
What is ButterBeer?
This term was coined by the Author of the Harry Potter novel series, J.K. Rowling, based on the real “buttered beer,” which was made from beer, sugar, eggs, nutmeg, closeves and butter.
But in relation to Harry Potter, it is a an imaginary warming beverage.
While in the series the drink may have had some alcohol, the beer in Butterbeer doesn’t necessarily refer to alcohol. It is more so referring to the butterscotch and other ingredients.
The beverage does not have to be alcoholic. It can also be sold iced, or even frozen.
Today people have made their version generally concocted of butterscotch, brown sugar, heavy cream, soda water, caramel, etc.
It is also available at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando. Universal does not sell any alcoholic version of Butterbeer.

I have just one simple question for you. What’s Better Than Homemade Ice Cream? This time of the year that answer is really simple. NOTHING. In the heat of the summer, nothing beats ice cream.
One of my fondest memories as a child was taking the old-time ice cream maker out on the back porch and churning ice cream. These were not the electric ice cream makers we have today.
