This was in early fall. This porch fills up quickly during the season.

The first thing you notice when you walk into this restaurant is the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. When I visit this small town on the Carolina coast, I love to stop in and have breakfast because this coastal cafe on a side street is one of South Carolina's best. Plus, a bonus: they love dogs, and it shows!

Did Someone Say Fried Green Tomatoes?

The Lost Dog Cafe in Folly Beach is a must-stop for visitors. They are open for breakfast and lunch and serve up some great food. You can get something simple like I did, scrambled eggs with bacon and fresh fruit, or you can go big and get their Eggs Benedict on an Engish muffin and topped with fried green tomatoes, eggs, and Canadian bacon. Yum!

For lunch, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. How about a BLT Wrap with blackened salmon, fried green tomatoes, bacon, and Cajun mayo? Plus, you have to try their She Crab soup.

Off The Beaten Path

You won't see this restaurant on the main drag; Lost Dog Cafe is on a side street in Folly Beach, surrounded by beach cottages. The front deck is the most popular place to dine in the spring and summer, but they also have a dining room. The staff has always been friendly, and the food has always been so good each time I've eaten there.
