Salmon Patties Are A Southern Delicacy, Don’t Even Try To Argue With Me
I grew up on a variety of redneck foods (if you missed my tomato sandwich appreciation post, check it out here.)
As much as I love Vienna Sausages and cinnamon sugar toast, this is my all-time favorite redneck food: salmon patties! You get bonus redneck points if you smother it in ketchup, and extra bonus redneck points if you pronounce the L in salmon.
I’ve tweaked some of my favorite recipes to be healthier, and these low-carb salmon patties are SO GOOD!
I originally shared this recipe on Instagram, and it’s pretty simple. Here’s what you need:
- 1/2 cup of almond flour, an egg, 2 tablespoons of chopped veggies (I used red bell pepper, green bell pepper & onion)
- can of salmon (you can use fresh if you have it on hand, but the canned is already cooked so it makes the process quicker.)
- 1/2 cup cooking oil (I use avocado oil)
- 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning
Heat oil in a skillet, mix all the ingredients together, shape into patties and fry until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes each side.) That’s it!
Every southerner knows that the best way to eat a salmon patty is with ketchup, but they’re also delicious with sriracha or spicy mayo!
If you make these, make sure to share a picture on Instagram and tag me!
