I’ve got a song perfect for Valentine’s Day on the playlist this week. Today we’re celebrating the day of love, and this is a great love song. If you’re looking for a song to slow dance with your Valentine to, might I suggest this one. It’s by Ed Sheeran. This guy knows how to drop a love song on you. Honestly, he has a bunch of great love songs, but this one is one of my favorites.
The Story Behind The Song
This song came out in 2017. It was actually the first song that Ed wrote for his “Divide” album. Ed wrote the song about the woman who would soon be his wife, Cherry. Ed and Cherry got married two years later in 2019, and they now have daughters together.
Here is another little tip. If you’re getting married any time soon, you may want to add this song to the wedding playlist. It was voted one of the top Ed Sheeran songs to play at a wedding by Brides.com.
The Story Behind The Day
So now that I’ve told you a little history behind the song I picked for today, let me give you some history behind Valentine’s Day. The reason we celebrate today is because of the Feast of Saint Valentine. Saint Valentine was a priest back in the Roman Empire who ministered to persecuted Christians. So you’re probably asking how today got associated with love? Well according to legend, Saint Valentine used to secretly marry couples to spare the husbands from war against the emperor’s orders.
Well, now that you know some history behind Valentine’s Day, let’s check out a song perfect for Valentine’s Day that I picked.
The song is “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’d like to wish my wife and daughter a Happy Valentines Day. Here are some throwback pics from our anniversary celebration last year.
Dub And Kelsey Celebrate Their Fourth Wedding Anniversary
My wife Kelsey and I are celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary today. So I thought that it might be a good time to open the photo album and look back at some pictures. Thank you in advance for checking these out. We appreciate y’all caring so much about our family. Let me share a little bit about how we got to this point.
Kelsey and I met in 2016 at The Indian Queen on Wrightsboro Rd. We hit it off immediately! About a week and a half later we went on our first official date. We went to Whiskey Bar and Stillwater Taproom in downtown Augusta. When we sat at Stillwater and talked for almost 3 hours, I knew there was something there.
When Did I Pop The Question?
I finally proposed to Kelsey on Thanksgiving Day in 2018. It was special because we had just moved into our first house, and we were hosting Thanksgiving. Both of our families were there, so I figured it was the perfect time. That way no one could say they missed it because they weren’t there. Thankfully she said yes! Let the wedding planning begin!
In December of 2018 we started touring venues and getting all of the planning started. It all came together pretty quickly honestly, and it was a pretty stress free process. October 5th, 2019 was an awesome day, I think. If I’m being honest, and I think Kelsey would say the same thing, the day was kind of a blur. There was just so much happening. But I do remember crying when I saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. She looked so beautiful.
The past four years have been amazing, and here’s to many many more! Thanks for sharing our fourth wedding anniversary with us.
