So this Sunday is Mother’s Day! What are we going to do to celebrate dear ol’ mom? If you’ve not
started thinking about what to do for Mom this weekend, you need to get busy!
Now I understand that Mother’s Day may not be a day that you enjoy, and I
get that. I’m kind of one of those people now myself. I lost my Mother in June
of 2009, so I get it. I was, and still am a momma’s boy. While this is not my
favorite holiday, I do take the day and remember all of the good times and the
life lessons she taught me that I apply daily to my life.
What Can We Do This Mother’s Day?
There are so many things you can do for mom or your mother figure. It may be a grandmother, a sister, an aunt or just a older person that you’ve grown close to over the years that has been motherly to you. If you are like me and your mother has passed, do what I do, remember the good times. Look through photos. I have every birthday, Christmas card, or note my mother has ever written me. I have two Bibles that were given to me by my mom and dad and they both wrote messages in the Bibles, I read them.
Here are some ideas:
Take mom out to lunch so she doesn’t’ have to cook.
Make a homemade card for her, something she will keep forever.
Take her our for a day of fun, hair, nails, and brunch.
Tell her to pack a bag and take her on an overnight trip.
Make a day at the lake.
Put a bunch of ideas in a hat and have her pick and you do that.
But more than anything I can promise that the main thing mom wants… is your time. Take the time and make her a priority this weekend. You should do it everyday, but this weekend, let’s make it all about mom
If you have it on your list the Mother’s Day to take mom out for brunch, here are the top places in Aiken and Augusta for brunch.
