Kane Brown’s Version Of ‘Georgia On My Mind’ Will Blow You Away
The song ‘Georgia On My Mind’ has always been special to me. As someone who was born and raised here in Georgia, I’ve always loved the song. Of course, there are a lot of artists that have covered the song over the years. I’ll admit some versions of the song have been better than others. However, Kane Brown’s version is going to totally blow you away.
It’s Georgia’s State Song
I’m sure you knew that though, but let me give you a little history behind the song ‘Georgia On My Mind’. The song was originally written back in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell, and it was recorded by Hoagy that same year. However, the song gained popularity when Ray Charles recorded the song in 1960 on his album “The Genius Hits The Road”.
In 1979, ‘Georgia On My Mind’ officially became the state song for Georgia. Like I mentioned before, a ton of artists have also recorded the song, including Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson.
I’m sure you know that Kane Brown is a Georgia boy, so recording this song must have been really special for him. He does an amazing job on the song. It almost doesn’t even sound like him. In fact, the first time I played this song for Cody, she didn’t know who it was. I was blown away by Kane’s version, and I think you will be too.
As a lifetime Georgian, I love this song, and I don’t feel like just any artist can do it justice. Kane Brown did it justice and then some!
