TikTok Of The Day – April 20: The Latest Beauty Trend
Is this the latest beauty trend? Beef fat skincare… a new TikTok trend. This sounds a little out there for me. But apparently you smear the beef fat on your face (basically lard, but from cows instead of pigs). It’s technically called beef tallow.
There are claims that the beef fat skincare is a great moisturizer and also helps with acne. There are many people online saying their skin has never looked better.
Some people are making their own, but there are some beauty brands that still sell beef tallow products. Although the products usually have things like beeswax or essential oils added.
Here’s a video about the beef fat skincare trend:

What Do Dermatologists Say?
While one dermatologist who was asked about it said it’s probably safe to try, it wouldn’t be his first choice for acne or dry skin. There are many other products that are proven to help with those skin issues. He also said the beef tallow could actually wind up clogging your pores more.
Despite his advice, some are saying they’ve tried everything for their acne, and this has been the only thing that worked for them.

I will say, I’ve been dealing with some adult acne myself lately… but I don’t see myself making or buying any beef tallow to help! If you’ve tried it and it works for you, I’d love to hear about it! Email me or shoot me a message on Facebook or Instagram!
