A Kicks 99 Guitar Pull You WOULD Never Forget
As we get closer and closer to this year’s Kicks 99 Guitar Pull we wanna share some behind the scenes and show you how we look at the show each year. Today let’s take things back to a Kicks 99 Guitar Pull you WOULD never forget. If I was given the keys to the Guitar Pull bus and everyone I asked had to come, that is what we are talking about today.
A fact about this show is that it is a year-round job. We are actually looking and talking to artists for the 2024 Guitar Pull now, which will be the 25th anniversary. One of my favorite stories about booking an artist is this one. In 2006, Rascal Flatts and Jason Aldean played the Kicks 99 Guitar Pull. Rewind to April of 2006, Masters week, Tee and I were in Lowes and he received a phone call from the guys of Rascal Flatts saying that they were coming to play. 2006 would have been the peak year for Rascal Flatts and their career and to have them play the Guitar Pull was a big deal.
So if you ever see Tee or myself in a store with the phone to our ears, you never know who it might be. LOL

Now the answer NO is not an option. So, if I were given the keys and I could have the artists that I wanted on Kicks 99’s Guitar Pull just for me, this is my list:

- Hank Jr.
- Cody Johnson
