One of my favorite memories from the Kicks99 Guitar Pull came from the 2012 show. That night the show ended with an impromptu freestyle jam session. I love this moment, because it shows all of the artists having so much fun. Moments like this are what makes the show so special, and why people want to go year after year, to see things like this.
The Show In 2012
In 2012 our lineup was Luke Bryan, Lee Brice, Little Big Town, Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, and Lauren Alaina. Pretty good show huh?! Luke Bryan was one of the biggest stars in country music at the time. This was the time when he was getting hit song after hit song. Luke could do no wrong. Lee Brice, Little Big Town and Brantley Gilbert were also having huge hits at the time as well. 2012 was one of the biggest Guitar Pulls ever.
Of course each artist sang four songs, as they typically do. Then, as is custom, each artist sang a cover song as an encore. Well after each artist was done with their fifth song, Luke Bryan said he wasn't ready to go home yet. Apparently neither was anyone at The James Brown Arena. All of the artists stayed on stage and started free styling.
It started with "The Joker" by The Steve Miller Band. However other songs like "Baby Got Back", "Ice Ice Baby", "Angel" , "The Fresh Prince of Belair" theme song and more got woven in there as well. This is one of my favorite memories from the show because you could just tell how much fun the artists were having. Its these kinds of things that we hope happen every single year.

Speaking of Guitar Pull, did you know that these artists played the show?
6 Country Superstars You Didn’t Know Played Kicks99 Guitar Pull
Did you know these 6 country superstars played the Kicks99 Guitar Pull in the past? Who are they? Well we'll get to that in just a second. Its crazy to think that its almost Guitar Pull season here in the CSRA. We're just a little over a month away from announcing this year's lineup and starting ticket stops for 2023.
The other day I was thinking about all of the artists who have played the show over the years. There really isn't a major star in country who hasn't played the show at least once. Whether it was the years at The Bell Auditorium, the USCA Convocation Center or the James Brown Arena. We've been so fortunate over the years to have the biggest names in country music grace the Guitar Pull stage.
Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell, Sam Hunt, they've all played Guitar Pull over the years. Kane Brown, Dustin Lynch, Kelsea Ballerini, Scotty McCreery, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, they've all played it as well. Country legends like Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Clay Walker, Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd, yeah they've played too.
I can't wait to see what this year's line up looks like. One thing I know for sure is that we'll be in for a great night of amazing music and fun, just like every year! Keep checking back to Kicks99.com and keep listening for more Guitar Pull info in the coming weeks.
