The Biggest Christmas Movies Of All Time

These are the biggest Christmas movies of all time! Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, I say bring on the Christmas movies! We've already put a couple of our favorites on already at the house. I always find myself going back to the same ones every year. Mostly because they're classics, and in my opinion, some of the newer ones just aren't as good.

I found this list on PopCulture.com and it ranks the movies based on how much money they grossed at the box office. The box office website The Numbers calculated these amounts. However, the list isn't adjusted for inflation. That means that some older Christmas movies like "White Christmas" and my personal favorite "Christmas Vacation" didn't make it on this list.

Now you know why these movies aren't on the list. I'll be honest, I was a little surprised that "Christmas Vacation" wasn't on this list, but now that I know that it wasn't adjusted for inflation it makes a little more sense. On my list of favorite Christmas movies. "Christmas Vacation" will always be number 1.

Some of the movies on this list will make total sense, and you'll totally get why they're on there. However, there will be some that probably surprise you as well. Most of these movies are classics that must be watched every Christmas season. But there are others that I've never seen, and a few I've never heard of.

Here's the list of the biggest Christmas movies of all time:

"The Grinch" (2018 Version)

I've never seen this version of The Grinch, but it came in at #1 on the list grossing $512 million

"Home Alone"

This one makes total sense. It's one of the movies I have to watch every year. It's grossed over $476 million.

"Home Alone 2: Lost In New York"

With "Home Alone" being at number 2 on the list, it only makes sense that the sequel is number 3. This movie has grossed over $358 million.

"How The Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000 Version)

This is the one that my wife and I have to watch every year. Jim Carrey did an amazing job! This version of The Grinch has grossed over $345 million.

"Disney's A Christmas Carol" (The 2009 Version)

Jim Carrey checks in for the second time on the list. He did the voice of Scrooge in this movie and it's grossed over $315 million.

"The Polar Express"

I'll be honest, I've never seen this movie all the way through. I know, I need to change that. Its grossed over $312 million.

"Rise Of The Guardians"

This is one of those movies that I told you would probably surprise you that its on the list. I've never seen it, honestly I don't think I've even heard of it, however it's grossed over $306 million.

"Elf"

I really though this one would be higher on the list. This is another movie thats on the list of ones we have to watch every Christmas. It's grossed over $224 million.

"The Holiday"

This looks like one of those holiday rom coms that my wife would love. I think she made me watch this one before. It's grossed over $204 million.

"The Santa Clause"

There have been a bunch of sequels and spin offs on Disney Plus, but the original Santa Clause rounds out this list. It's grossed over $190 million.
