Saturday Puppy Snuggles To Support Augusta Rescue
Last week, one of my friends from Dog and Cat Networking Agents reached out to me about an event they were hosting. Dog and Cat Networking Agents is an Augusta rescue that works with the Augusta Animal Shelter. I have known this team of amazing people for 5 or 6 years. Their heart for animals is incredible. They’ve had a lot of medical cases recently, and being a nonprofit, the costs were building up and they needed help.
Augusta Rescue’s Dog And Donuts Event
So, on Saturday, Dog and Cat Networking Agents hosted “Dogs and Donuts” at The Pawsh Place in Grovetown. Things kicked off at 11 a.m. I wanted to show my support, so me, David, and my stepdaughter Alexis came out to get some puppy snuggles and donuts!
You know, Dub predicted at the beginning of the year that I would have a third dog at some point this year. And honestly, I am not opposed to the idea. It would have been SO easy to take one of the sweet babies I met on Saturday home with us. Especially One-Eyed Willie (see his picture below)! There are so many amazing dogs that are in need of forever homes, and it’s heartbreaking.
One-Eyed Willie was one of Dog and Cat Networking Agents’ most recent medical cases. His eye injury would have led to an infection if they didn’t get it removed. And then there was Rosie. She’s a pittie, and I have a special place in my heart for Pitts. Her story was also heartbreaking. I am so thankful that someone was able to get her removed from a terrible situation. And the amazing part is, despite her horrible living conditions, this sweet girl was greeting everyone with a wagging tail all morning.
How To Help An Augusta Rescue
There are many ways you can help local rescues as they work to get animals off the street and out of the shelters. Of course, you can always adopt one of these great animals. But that’s not the only way. You can volunteer your time to help with rescue efforts and events. They also do transports and need assistance with that as well. You can also become a foster to help house animals until they are adopted out. They are always looking for long and short-term fosters. If you can’t help in those ways, you can also shop their Amazon Wish lists or make a monetary donation. Learn more about Dog and Cat Networking Agents on their website HERE.
