Frog & The Hen Throws A Taylor Swift Themed Brunch For All The Local Swifties
Is Frog & The Hen a swiftie?!
Today, April 19, Taylor Swift released her surprise double album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. It is a reissue of Taylor Swift’s 11th album and features 15 more new tracks.
Frog and The Hen in Augusta got in on the celebration of her new album by throwing a Taylor Swift-themed brunch. The brunch is taking place today 8 am – 8 pm.
The manager, Kinsey Ringer, a swiftie herself, told me why she thought this was a great idea for the community.
“I brought it up to the owner and he was kind of hesitant about it, but I was like, it would be a great opportunity – we’re a big group – a big community, especially in the area,” Kinsey said.
They even have a friendship bracelet station set up for customers to make their own.
What to Expect at the Taylor Swift Brunch at Frog and The Hen
All things Taylor for sure! You get to pick from the Taylor Swift sticker pile.
Expect all things Taylor Swift! From the music playing through the restaurant to the special curated menu. They have a friendship bracelet station set up, a photo-op area with props, and more.
“For our food special it’s going to be a play on our fried chicken biscuit. It’s going to have an open-faced biscuit, smoked ham, a sunny-side-up egg, and hot hollandaise sauce on it,” Kinsey said.
They even have special cocktails; since Taylor Swift fans come in all ages, they also have some special mocktails.
Maybe you’re feeling 22? Get a chance to step into your Taylor Swift Era with different photo-op props. ( There’s more than what’s pictured!)
It wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift brunch without themed cocktails and mocktails!
What’s the definition of a Swiftie?
If you want to experience this, you’ve still got time! Don’t forget to make your reservation.
“If you guys have any ideas or want to see anything similar to this event, definitely reach out to me and let me know, maybe I can get with some other people in the community and we can kind of get together and plan something too,” Kinsey concluded.
While this is the first music artist-themed brunch like this at Frog and The Hen, this certainly may not be the last.
Five Things Taylor Swift Said After She Won Her First Award
Taylor Swift capped off an incredible 2023 by being named Time‘s Person Of The Year.
Upon earning the title, Taylor told Time, “This is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”
Swift also topped People magazine’s “Most Intriguing People” list.
On December 5, 2023, the publication acknowledged all the feats the singer-songwriter has accomplished to honor her with the title. As we previously reported, Swift’s 3.5-hour-long “Eras Tour” concerts, vinyl record sales, and concert film helped boost Swift to billionaire status.
I’ve had the pleasure of following Taylor in Nashville, doing interviews and covering her since the beginning of her career in 2006 when she released her debut album. I was even backstage in the press room when Swift won her very first award at Nashville’s CMT Music Awards on April 16, 2007. She was nominated for her first award in CMT’s “Breakthrough Video of the Year” category. She was nominated against Jason Aldean’s “Amarillo Sky,” Kellie Pickler’s “Red High Heels,” and the Wreckers’ “Leave The Pieces.”
Big winners at the 2007 CMT Music Awards were Carrie Underwood for Female Video of the Year for “Before He Cheats,” Group Video of the Year went to Rascal Flatts for “What Hurts The Most,” and CMT favorite Kenny Chesney won Male Video of the Year for “You Save Me.”
When Taylor came backstage, she was beside herself with excitement for winning the CMT “Breakthrough Video of the Year” for her music video for “Tim McGraw,” which was her first single on country radio and the song that introduced us all to the megastar.
As we celebrate all things Swift this year going in 2024, where we will probably be celebrating her even more, I thought it would be fun to look back at that first award night for Taylor and share some of the things she said as she embarked on a career that has already amassed over 500 awards.
