There is a new restaurant in Columbia County that is set to open later this year. It will add another dining and entertainment option to the area known as Downtown Evans. That area has been growing a lot recently, and I think its awesome. There is a new upscale apartment complex there and of course the Columbia County Performing Arts Center. Also there are other restaurants and shops in that area, and I think this new spot will be a great addition.
The Newest Restaurant In Columbia County
According to The Augusta Chronicle the new restaurant in Columbia County is owned by Shawn and Katy Ledford. They also own Mellow Mushroom. The new spot is set to open where Stay Social Tap and Table was in the Downtown Evans area across from Evans Town Center Park. According to The Chronicle, the new restaurant should be open before Thanksgiving.
We don't know what the name of the new restaurant will be yet. However we do know that it will feature a delicious menu of classic favorites. There will also be live music quite frequently at the new restaurant in Columbia County. The article says that there will be frequent acoustic performances from local artists.
Like I said before, I think this is awesome! I love it when new things come to the area. People here need more options for dining and entertainment. Plus its giving people more places to go and grab a bite to eat before a show at Lady A Amphitheater or The Columbia County Performing Arts Center. The area known as Downtown Evans is growing fast, and I can't wait to see what they'll add next!

Like I said earlier in this article, I love it when new things come to this area, and these are a few more things I would love to see in the CSRA.
Top 5 Things We Need In The CSRA
There are some things I think we need in the CSRA. Of course, we have a lot of things here. I've watched this area grow tremendously throughout my life, but there are still a few things I would like to see here. Some of these are things we've never had, and some are things we used to have but don't anymore. I think that y'all will agree with me on at least a couple of these, at least I hope you will.
The CSRA Needs These Things In My Opinion
Like I said a second ago, we've grown so much here in this area. There are a ton of new shops and restaurants. Also everywhere you look there are new neighborhoods and apartment complexes being built. Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia, I'm pretty surprised that we don't have some of these things. I think these things are things we need in the CSRA to give people more things to do. These are just a few more options if you will.
Some of the things in this list are things that we used to have here. A lot of long-time residents of the CSRA will remember some of them. For some reason, they didn't make it. Maybe they were mismanaged, or maybe they weren't in the proper location. I don't know what the reason is, but I think we could use some of these things back.
The things I'm going to list are mostly entertainment or shopping-related. Also, I'm sure I'm going to miss some things that you might think we need in the CSRA. Please feel free to reach out and help me add on to this list.

Here Are Some Things We Need In The CSRA
A Comedy Club
We used to have one back in the day. I was never old enough to go there, and by the time I was it was closed. Augusta loves comedy. I know this because I go to a lot of the comedy shows that come here, and for the most part, all of them are sold out, or close to it. I think it would be a great date night option or just a cool place to go and hang out with a group of friends. Everyone loves to laugh and have a good time right? Of course they do.

A Water Park
This is another thing we used to have. A lot of long-time Augusta residents will remember Krystal River Water Park. I only went a couple of times, but I remember it was always fun. Of course, there are places here that have splash pads and things like that, but we need a full-fledged water park. It gets hot here in the summer, we need another place to cool off.

PGA Tour Superstore
Ok, this one is just kinda for me and all of the golf nuts out there. Of course, we've got some great golf stores here in the CSRA, but have you ever been to a PGA Tour Superstore?! I can spend hours in there. Augusta is a golf town, we're one of the golf capitals of the world and the fact that we don't have a PGA Tour Superstore is crazy.
Trader Joe's
I think someone else here at the station brought this up, but I'm bringing it up again. We need a Trader Joe's! The closest one is in Columbia. They have some amazing snacks. Every time my wife and I are near one, we have to stock up. I'm not the only one who feels this way either. Any time a building is empty or something new is being built, at least a few people are asking "Is it a Trader Joe's?!" Can we get one here, please?
A Science/Discovery Center
This is something else that we had years ago. If you grew up in the CSRA in the 90s or 2000s, odds are you took a field trip to Fort Discovery. It was a really cool place for kids to learn with lots of hands on activities. We took our daughter to the science center in Orlando, and she loved it. I think that kids here in the CSRA need a place like this again.
