For a long time, you haven’t been able to buy beer at Georgia games. Will that be changing soon? It certainly looks like it. From what we’re hearing, you won’t have to do all of your drinking at the pre game tailgate. However, there will be some rules, just like with every other sporting event. Here’s what we know so far.
Enjoy A Beer At the Georgia Games
According to an article on SI.com, starting with the 2024 season, you will be able to enjoy a beer at Georgia home games. Reports started coming out yesterday that alcoholic beverages such as beer and seltzers will be available at home games starting later this year. Believe it or not, Georgia was actually one of the last schools in the SEC to not allow beers sales in their football stadium.
Here’s the weird thing though, you’ve been able to buy beer at Georgia basketball games for years now. But why not football? That’s a question Dawg fans have been asking. And apparently we’ve been asking loud enough and long enough that we have an answer, and the answer is yes. Ultimately, they had to think about how much extra money they could be making right?
Think about this, Georgia has sold out every home game since 2021. Thats a lot of people who would love to enjoy a cold beer. And odds are those beers are going to be at least $10 or so. You do the math on that one. However, like anything there will be some rules. From what I’ve read you will only be able to buy two beers per person, and they will do last call sometime in the third quarter.
I think that is a smart move. Of course, I’m sure there will be people that disagree. But you can’t hold out forever, and I think it’s time we join the rest of the SEC on this one.

I love going to Athens for Georgia games. Here are some of my memories at Sanford Stadium.
Dub's Memories At Sanford Stadium
The Georgia Bulldogs 2022 season kicks off Saturday. We all know that Sanford Stadium is the home of the Dawgs, and it’s one of my favorite places on Earth. I’ve been a Georgia Bulldogs fan since I was a kid, and I kind of turn into a kid again every time I step foot in Sanford Stadium. I’ve got some pretty cool memories there, and since it’s game week, I’d like to share some of them with y’all.
I never really had the chance to go to many Georgia games over the years. My weekends were always spent working Guitar Pull stops in the fall. The first chance I had to go was in 2013. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett were playing the first ever concert at Sanford Stadium. It was so cool to not only be in the stadium for the first show ever there, but to stand on the field where my team played! I was standing “between the hedges” in Athens! That was the best feeling. The show was absolutely awesome as well.
The first Georgia game I went to was in October of 2018. It was Georgia vs. Vanderbilt. It was a night game, but of course my wife and I and our friends that went with us spent the entire day in Athens. That’s what you do on game day. We went downtown Athens, we hit the University of Georgia book store and grabbed some gear, we tailgated, we had a blast! I knew right then I wanted to go to as many games as I possibly could.
The last game I had the chance to go to was in November of 2019. For a wedding gift, my wife gave me four Georgia tickets. She also gave us a parking pass and booked my buddies and I an AirBNB. Four best friends, who are huge college football fans, spent the day in Athens. We had a great time. There are a few places that make my list of my favorite spots on Earth. Sanford Stadium is one of those places. I can’t wait to get back there. Here are some of my pics from Sanford Stadium. Go Dawgs!
