The world may not exactly be getting back to normal in 2021, but there are some things to look forward to in this cattywompus year! Amazon Prime Video is about to put some laughter into the world with a sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 film, Coming To America.
Coming 2 America will reunite pretty much all of the original cast, including Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones and more. The plot finds Akeem, now king of Zamunda, returning to America to find a son that he didn’t know he had – and heir to the throne of Zamunda. In a reversal of roles, Akeem’s son comes to Zamunda with his father. The result looks to be a hilarious mirror of Akeem’s American culture shock in the original film.
Coming 2 America will be available to stream via Amazon Prime Video on March 5th.
