WATCH: Storytime With George Strait Is So Wholesome (And Also Kinda Hot, Because HELLO, It’s George Freakin’ Strait)
Ok, well, THIS might be the most adorable video to come out of this new virtual world that we’re now living in:
George Strait made a special appearance on Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Facebook page for a livestream series called ‘Stars of Texas Storytime’ (It’s a program launched by Governor Abbott and his wife, as a way to keep children entertained at home during the coronavirus pandemic.)
For his story, King George chose the popular children’s book, Never Ask A Dinosaur To Dinner.
I get it, this was for the kids…but I have no problem admitting that as a full-grown woman with no kids, I, too was captivated—could’ve been the riveting literature, could’ve been the fact that George Strait is a total snack, I dunno…either way, this is the most wholesome six and a half minutes that you’ll see on the internet today. (There’s a still screen for the first few seconds, so skip to the :40 second mark to get to the beginning of the story.)
Can you imagine how cute George reading to his own grandkids must be?! (Part of me would love to have George Strait as a grandpa, and part of me would feel grossed out for having this kind of crush on my grandpa…ok, I need to stop this train of thought before it goes too far off the tracks.)
